HOPE & REDEMPTION: THE LENA BAKER STORY

Based on true events, the powerful film HOPE & REDEMPTION: THE LENA BAKER STORY recounts one African-American woman’s struggle to rise above the challenges of her life, to face the choices she makes, and to ultimately triumph over her impossible circumstances. In 1945 Lena Baker was the first and only woman ever to be executed by the electric chair in Georgia. Sentenced to death for shooting a white man in self-defense, Lena now has the power to educate a new generation about the battles that were previously fought. Had it not been for the struggles and inhumane treatment of Lena Baker and others like her, there would have been no real motivation for the change that has come.

Made from start to finish in Georgia, THE LENA BAKER STORY opened in Atlanta last weekend with sold out theatres. Now is your opportunity to experience Lena’s story before the film opens nationwide!
